Announcement to the Guild

Dear IWWG Members and Valued Friends,

There are some new and exciting developments in the International Women’s Writing Guild.

All of us, on every level, know the IWWG would never have been possible without the hard work, dedication and true magical spirit of our Founder, Hannelore Hahn. In terms of the Guild, she was the first mover. In September, Hannelore officially stepped down as Executive Director of the Guild. She will retain the title of Founder, IWWG. The Guild has always looked to Hannelore as its founder and visionary and will continue to do so in the future.

This step has led to the hiring of a new Executive Director. The IWWG Board of Directors is very excited to announce that Cynthia Stillwell, longtime IWWG member and someone who truly “gets” the spirit of the Guild, has accepted the position of Executive Director of the IWWG. Cynthia brings a wealth of experience from the non-profit world, in everything from conference organization, to fund raising, to overseeing finance and operations.

With myself serving as Director of Operations and Rachel de Baere as Director of Programs, we complete our new executive team. This team looks forward to a year of great progress and turn-around. We want to continue delivering value and magic to our members as we always have. The changes and transformations I have just described are really part of the continuum of what the Guild is all about.

As many of you know, in the last few years, the IWWG has faced challenges. One only has to look to the broader world to know that we are not alone. Our ability to survive economic rough seas and to thrive will take a shared effort, one in which you can participate. The spirit of the Guild has always sprung from its members, and we will be relying on this magic to bring us into the future.
Soon you will be hearing from Executive Director Cynthia Stillwell, who will outline plans for the upcoming year and describe areas in which Guild members’ help and participation is welcome and needed.

Sincerely,

Elizabeth Julia Stoumen
President, IWWG Board of Directors
