FAQ Regarding Recent Events

The IWWG Board of Directors sent out an email on Monday, February 13th, updating membership on recent events, and provided an email account for your questions. By Wednesday, we received over 120 emails. We personally read each one and would like to thank you all for your questions, concerns, and support. At this time, we would like to offer responses to the questions asked by many of you, as completely as we can.

Cynthia Fritts Stillwell, Executive Director

What is going on in the IWWG?

A lawsuit has been filed by Hannelore Hahn, IWWG Founder and member of the Board of Directors, and Elizabeth Julia Stoumen, a member of the Board of Directors, against the IWWG, the Board of Directors of the IWWG, Anna Murray as an Officer and Director of the Board of Directors, and Executive Director Cynthia Fritts Stillwell as an individual.

Where can I find a copy of the lawsuit?

The lawsuit is a matter of public record and is posted online here: http://iapps.courts.state.ny.us/iscroll/SQLData.jsp?IndexNo=101251-2012

What about the conferences? Will there be conferences?

Conference planning has been temporarily suspended. However, we are hopeful that within a short time we will be able to pick up normal business again. We will keep everyone informed as we are able.

What about my membership dues? I paid to be a member of the IWWG and now things are suspended. Can I get my money back?

Conferences are a separate fee, not covered by IWWG dues. Other IWWG services, such as access to the site, the agent list, and receipt of the Network (which has been delayed, not canceled) will still be available to members. However, if any member wants to cancel her membership at any time and receive a full refund, we are of course happy to do that.

What about the Network? Will there be a way to share member news and events?

We are preparing to send out a new Network issue. We ask for members' help in disseminating their news regarding their professional accomplishments, awards, publishing of works, etc. We have a separate email address to send member news for inclusion in the Network, which is iwwgmembernews@gmail.com.

I need more information. Why can’t the Board members respond to my emails and answer my specific questions?

Unfortunately, the members of the Board are limited in what they can say individually due to pending litigation. But we can respond in formats such as this FAQ. We are continuing to collect common questions and will be adding to this page. We will also be sending out periodic emails to inform members of events, such as the status of the conferences.
