Dear Guild Sisters and Supporters:
This year is the 50th anniversary of the founding of The International Women’s Writing Guild. Some of us have been a part of the Guild from its early years and others have joined more recently. But most of us share memories of the magic that is the Guild at its best. That heritage is something to celebrate.
Sadly, IWWG cannot continue in its current structure. The Guild’s 50th anniversary year will be its last in its present incarnation. Unexpected events over the past several years and resulting financial liabilities make that impossible. This does not mean that the magic has to die. Change, yes, but not necessarily dieOur final fundraising goal is $30,000 to repay our outstanding debts and the closing expenses. For any donation of $250 or more, we'll send you a newly minted copy of Something Inside So Strong--Women's Words on Resilience, Resistance, and Reverence our 50th anniversary anthology. These funds will not save the Guild, but they will allow it to close honorably, with its good name intact. Please also consider giving to honor a beloved friend, teacher or member. Two women have volunteered $5,000 each to create a matching grant fund, so contribute what you can and see it double in its impact!
